Opihi College Gym Refurbishment and Reclad

Scheduled to commence construction in late 2025, the Opihi College Gym project involves a comprehensive interior refurbishment and exterior recladding to modernize and enhance its facilities. The interior upgrade will include dedicated spaces such as a weights area, a new office for the head of department, and additional storage facilities to support the school’s sporting programs and activities.

A key feature of the refurbishment is the addition of FLOC panels on interior walls, specifically designed to improve acoustic properties within the gym. These panels are creatively designed to reflect the natural beauty of the local environment, with motifs representing the mountains and the ocean—an homage to the school’s proximity and connection to nature.

The exterior recladding will not only update the building’s appearance but also improve insulation and durability, ensuring a sustainable and visually appealing facility. The design integrates the school’s colors throughout, fostering a sense of pride and identity within the school community.

This project aims to create a modern, functional, and inspiring space that supports health, fitness, and community engagement at Opihi College, ready to serve students and staff for years to come.
