Set within a compact space between the dwelling and boundary, this outdoor area required a carefully considered design response to provide privacy while maximising functionality. The resulting layout successfully integrates multiple outdoor living elements within a cohesive and efficient footprint, transforming a constrained area into a highly functional retreat.

The expansive deck serves multiple purposes, as a thoroughfare from the house, a relaxed seating zone, and a social hub anchored by a bar leaner. A custom-designed fireplace forms the focal point of the space, thoughtfully crafted to screen the backyard while incorporating firewood storage and generous bench surfaces for food preparation.

Adjacent to the deck, a paved patio offers just enough room for outdoor furniture to gather around the warmth of the fire and take in the sunset filtering through the surrounding trees. The spa pool holds pride of place without compromising circulation, set beneath its own pergola adorned with festoon lighting. This structure frames and encloses the space, creating an intimate, year-round retreat designed for relaxation and connection.
