With the installation of a new swimming pool underway, the design brief called for a landscape solution that would integrate the pool seamlessly into the existing outdoor living environment, rather than creating a fenced-off enclosure. The challenge for the Landscape Architect was to create a cohesive space that complied with the strict requirements of Building Code Clause F9, while maintaining visual connection, flow, and aesthetic elegance.
The final design employs a refined combination of clear glass and slim black baluster fencing to preserve views through to the wider landscape and frame the magnificent mountain outlook. Strategic planting is incorporated within the fence line to soften the structure and introduce natural texture, ensuring compliance with safety regulations that restrict climbable vegetation outside the barrier.
More than a functional pool, the space is designed as an extension of the family’s outdoor lifestyle. The inclusion of a pergola, areas for sun loungers, and a heated shower transforms the pool zone into a social hub, offering a relaxing, resort-style environment for gathering, entertaining, and everyday enjoyment.
