The lifeboat “Alexandra” played an important part in the maritime history in Timaru.  It was involved with saving countless lives during the many shipwrecks that occurred near Timaru in the 1800’s.  You can find out more about the lifeboat here.

After retiring, the lifeboat was put into storage and is now rarely seen.  However, a recent project is proposing to bring it back to public display.  We were honoured to have been among those asked to give our ideas.

This was an unbuilt project alongside Barrie Bracefield Architects in the early 2000’s.  It was to be within an extension to the South Canterbury Museum.
