For Bajan Blue, located beside the tranquil waters of Barbados, the design brief focused on capturing the essence of its picturesque setting with a relaxed, elegant, and calm atmosphere. Leon Browning, before NB Architects was formed, worked alongside Italica Architecture and Design, and aimed to reflect the coastal charm and serene environment of Barbados in the restaurant’s design. This was achieved by using soft, soothing color palettes, elegant furnishings, and open spaces that allow for natural light and sea breezes to enhance the dining experience.

The interior design incorporates elements that complement the beachfront location, such as decor inspired by the sea and the use of natural materials that blend indoors with outdoors. Large windows and terrace areas offer diners stunning views of the ocean, making the scenic beauty of Barbados an integral part of the dining experience. The overall ambiance is designed to provide a relaxing retreat where guests can enjoy exquisite cuisine in a setting that echoes the island’s laid-back yet sophisticated vibe.
