Creative Corner Early Learning Centre
What was once a former tennis court (turned preschool in 2014) is now a lush, open, nature-rich play space filled with opportunities for exploration, creativity, and challenge for babies to 5-year-olds. A fair bit of time went into checking the playground standards and safety regulations while fitting in a range of different activities to suit all age groups.
Some of the new features include:
A timber tree deck wrapped around the beautiful existing tree
A natural area with shrubs, leaves, sticks and bark for all the senses.
A flowing creek — already the crowd favourite!
The main centre piece! The connected climbing structure with slide, fireman’s pole, balancing rope and a range of climbing elements to challenge the nearly 5year olds.
Swings relocated to create a safer, clearer swing zone
Raised veggie gardens and a sharing shelf for kai and connection
Soft-fall surfacing for the tiniest explorers who crawl, roll and tumble
A continuous bike and trike track with playful up-and-down contours
And the sandpit as it always was
It’s been a joy to transform this space into somewhere children can connect with nature, challenge themselves, and simply play. And we didn’t forget about the teachers! We designed an outdoor space for them to relax and recharge on their breaks. They deserve it!
